The Emotional Capital Report (ECR) for Teams

The ECR Teams is the world’s most advanced assessment for assessing Team Emotional Intelligence.

It’s extremely practical tool for real-world Team Development, linking directly to workplace team behaviours that make – and hold back – a high performing team.

The assessment details the team’s strengths and development needs around 10 key Emotional Intelligence competencies under the 3 key pillars of high performing teams:

1.   Psychological Safety
2.   Team Identity
3.   Team Efficacy

Team members all individually complete the 10–15-minute ECR Teams assessment, and that input is used to create the ECR Teams report.

The ECR Teams report is then used as the basis for an initial ½-day Team Development session, run by an experienced Team Coach accredited in the ECR Teams.

The ECR Teams assessment details how individuals recognise and practice the 10 core Emotional Capital competencies that drive improved team performance, under the 3 key pillars of high performing teams.

The team receives a comprehensive, easy-to-understand summary report of the team’s Emotional Capital (Emotional Intelligence).

1.   Psychological Safety

Team Psychological Safety describes a team climate characterised by emotional awareness, interpersonal trust and mutual respect in which people are comfortable expressing themselves.

  • Team Awareness
The ability to recognise how the emotions of the group impact the team’s behaviours
  • Team Trust
The demonstrated commitment to understanding each other’s thoughts and feelings
  • Stress Management
The ability of team members to manage their emotions & stay calm in stressful situations

2.   Team Identity

It involves taking responsibility for prioritising the objectives of the team as a collective and being motivated to contribute to the performance of the group. It is characterised by collaboration and mutuality in patterns of team interaction.

  • Team Responsibility
Willingness of the team to take responsibility for decisions & for delivering results
  • Team Motivation
Ability to maintain an enthusiastic commitment to setting and achieving team goals
  • Relationships and Teamwork
Ability to establish mutually satisfying relationships & willingness to help each other

3.   Team Efficacy

When team efficacy is high team members are more motivated, engaged, more resilient and persistent in the face of difficulties and challenges and perform better as a collective

  • Team Confidence
Willingness to accept and value individual contributions and have confidence in combined skills and abilities
  • Team Communication
Ability to express thoughts, feeling and points of view openly in a straightforward way and give honest feedback
  • Adaptability and Agility
Capacity of the team to be open to new ideas, tolerant of others & value diversity
  • Team Optimism
Ability to maintain a positive attitude in the face of adversity, focus on opportunities & see the big picture

In the team development session, an experienced Team Coach guides and facilitates the team to get down to the practical, real-world actions team members each need to apply in the real-world workplace to take the team to the next level of performance.

Delivered face-to-face, virtually or hybrid, the ½-day Team Coaching and Development session uses the innovative online tool, Mural, to capture information that can be made available to the team after the event to continue the process themselves.

Of course, your SCC&D Team Coach can also work with the team on an ongoing basis if budget permits.

In the ½-day Team Development session, we use weighted anonymous voting by team members on Mural to identify priority action areas.

The Team Coach then takes the team through a structured process that moves the team through to specific action planning, detailing individual and team actions that people will apply in the workplace.

All our in-house programs are tailored to each group and organisation’s specific requirements and challenges.

Coaching Culture Leadership – Speaker Engagement – Chairman of CEO Institute Syndicates

I had Simon speak to my syndicates about the whole neuroscience perspective and how it relates to self-development, leadership skill sets and CEO performance. He was an excellent presenter receiving very high evaluations from all participants. His approach was practical and yet introduced members to neuroscience and its usefulness in understanding leadership development and I strongly recommend him to your chairs in the Sydney area. He also addressed the coaching role and the part it can play in personal development and team building. He also engaged with me fully prior to the sessions to make sure he came in at the right level to meet my members needs. I wholeheartedly recommend him to you and to your Chairmen.

Michael Powell, Chairman, CEO Institute Syndicates, Griffith University

It was a real eye opener, much deeper than I thought and much more useful for me in terms on growth and development then I thought it would be. Awesome program.
